The Season of Disillusionment for the Lakers of Lebron James

It’s another defeat for the Lakers, this time against the New York Knicks last of the Eastern Conference. Even with a six points lead at 2 minutes from the buzzer, they still found a way to lose thanks to multiples individual faults. It’s their third consecutive loss and the 8th in 9 games. Lebron James sees the playoffs getting away from him, he who has participated every year since 2005. They are officially eliminated from the race for the playoffs, with 9 wins late from the 8th, the Los Angeles Clippers.

However, the start of the season was promising for the Lakers, 4th of the Western Conference before Christmas. Then came the injury of Lebron and the beginning of the nightmare. 6 wins for 11 losses and a big drop in the rankings for the Lakers without its star. The come back of The King makes the hope live a little, but then another drama started; the announcement of Antony Davis who wants to leave New Orleans Pelicans for another team. The Lakers direction jumped on the occasion and proposed to the Pelicans a ‘Big Pack’ with most of the promising young players of the team (Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, Ivica Zubac and Josh Hart). It was impossible to refuse such an offer, and yet they did refuse it.

The consequence of this refusal was terrible for the Lakers, with a team completely destroyed. Can we even talk about a ‘team’ at this point ? We have the impression that the players lost total trust to the franchise and Lebron. The best example is that game just after this drama, against the Pacers. A terrible humiliation, a defeat by 42 points the worst defeat in Lebron James career with a shameful performance of the Lakers. We could see on this occasion that something is broken in the collective. For some specialist, James is the one in fault for killing this team, with his will to want to control everything. 

So now the question is: Lebron James is he still the best player in the world? Some journalists, like Stephen A. Smith a journalist with easy criticism, think that it’s time to stop calling him that. Even if his stats are still really impressive, he can’t keep his team up like he did with Cleveland. After an appearance in every playoffs since 2005, it’s the first season that we will not see him since then. But after a chaotic season, the Lakers’s results are still better than last year, and the trade period this summer looks very interesting. We hope that next year will be a better year for the King and the “purple and gold”.

LeBron James is one of the most famous basketball players in the world. He is 34 years old and  born in Akron, Ohio. He has played for the Los Angeles Lakers since 2018. In the beginning of his career, he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, from 2003 to 2010, winning in  2008  the scoring title and  nominated into the All-NBA first Team twelve times. On November 14 of 2018, he scored 44 points in one match. This is the fifth highest scoring in the history of basketball. He also had one of the best averages of scoring in basketball. These are many facts, but what is the secret behind his big career?

His early life was not really easy. He and his family moved from apartment to apartment. A football coach gave James the option to play basketball when he was 9 years old. His parents realized that James didn’t want to be a normal player –  he wanted to be better than the others. With an amateur team, James and his friends, enjoyed a local and national level. Then they went to a high school in Ohio.  His first season was unbelievable; James had an averaged of 25.2 points per game.

Many scouts watche552436714_750x422d him because everyone knew he could be a star. James was named the “Ohio Mr. Basketball”. He and his team were the only high school team in Ohio that finished a season undefeated.

After a good college career, he joined  the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. He was the best Rookie in this year. He played in Cleveland for 7 years, but, after failing to win a championship with Cleveland, he left them and joined the Miami Heats as a free agent. With Miami he won two NBA championships. Since 2018 he has played for the LA Lakers.

The secret behind his success are his rules. He always wanted to be a professional player, but he always had 10 rules. The first one is “Never give up”. For example, he started in his own town and had no target, but he always tried his best. His second rule is, “Don’t try to be perfect because you can’t be perfect, but training hard for your dream is important.” He said “Without pain you can’t get better”. “Maximize your potential which means to try your best. You play as a team, but you have to find your play style for yourself. Are you a leader or not?”

“If you have success then share your success.” This is his fifth rule. He helped other players to get better because he didn’t just think about himself.  “Ignore the haters, do what you like.” Lebron James is today the leader of the Lakers, but he isn’t a normal leader. His teammates are inspired by him. One of his rules is, “find your leadership style. For example, are you a team player or are you playing for your success?” His personally favorite rule is, “Don’t think you are the best. Train to be the best, but don’t think you are the best if you finished a good training session. “

All in all Lebron is not only a basketball player, he is a big influencer, an idol, and a great person. He changed the game of basketball in the way the game is played. As a person, he is one of the best leaders for a team. He isn’t a player who is just the symbol of a club. He manages to bring along and improve his teammates.

How to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Having a healthy lifestyle starts with a healthy mindset. You need to be in peace with yourself to be able to have access to that stable lifestyle you want. It’s all about finding that balance between self-care and allowing yourself to have a treat. It is important to know how your body works and how to improve your way of living.

The motivation and will to become healthy comes from within and you are the only person controlling your body. If you really want it, go and get it. It is as simple as that. You have to find certain sources of motivation to keep track of that lifestyle you want to achieve. As long as your mindset is in a good place, you will be, too !

One of the first things that is crucial to know and that you’ve probably heard a billion of times is drinking water. It makes you feel cleansed 24/7 and it is recommended to drink 180 ml per day. It will keep your system going and your skin clear!

Eating healthy always sounds so boring and like it’s something you have to endure, but it is way more easy and delicious than it sounds. You can find tons of easy recipes online that are so healthy and really tasty. Another way to achieve health in general is finding healthier options for things like butter, sugar and other harmfull products we might use a little too much. Coconut oil, Agave syrup are way better options for those two examples. Try to include plant-based products as much as you can in your diet because those are the most beneficial food sources you can eat. Vegetables and fruits are really important but, they’re not the only ones out there ; quinoa, all kinds of rice, grains, beans, lentils … are  fibers and protein sources that are so easy to make, way healthier and better for the environment than meat or fish.

After you get your diet down and decide which kinds of food are working for you and your inner body, you need to focus on your body image. That is where exercise will become part of your routine. Try to find ways you like to exercise because going to the gym is not always a pleasure for everyone. Dancing, hiking, yoga, swimming sounds like fun to me and are really nice activities you can do with other people.

Finally, you need to see this as a better way of living and not a restrictive way of living. You need to enjoy it in order to maintain it. That’s why balance is the most important thing. You should be able to treat yourself, but have a healthy lifestyle in general.

Why Run ?

Some people don’t understand the interest runners have in running. Maybe it’s because you don’t know all the upsides of running?

So I understand that it’s difficult to begin running because you don’t see the positive effects immediately and that may take a long time to see real improvement of your skills. But anyways work pays. I will show you in what ways it’s good for you.

First, running is good for your health like every sport, everybody knows that. You have to know that our immune system gets stronger when you run slowly. Moreover, running activates the blood circulation and that’s really good for our heart. That prevents many diseases and can also have a healing effect. Running also has a good effect on our bones and joints. Indeed, when we run our body reinforces our bones and joints to protect them against the impacts of each stride.

Then, running gives us a strong mental attitude. Running can be difficult and unpleasant even for people who have run for a long time. When you are in this bad stage, you must have a strong motivation to push on. Running is like a long project on ourselves to exceed our limits and be proud of ourselves. So jogging also has an effect in our daily lives, that improves our self confidence and mental capacities. So it’s good to overcome daily problems.

You can also run to overcome stress. Yes it’s true. Imagine that you have a complicated and stressed day period, in the evening you put on your running shoes and just think about nothing. When you are running, you forget all the pressure you have on your shoulders and you go back home with a smile on your face. Some Swedish studies even say that running can eliminate some toxic substances cause by stress and anxiety.

Finally, a big upside of running is the effect on our longevity. In fact, the Harvard school made a study that says that a heart which beats less quickly at rest is an important criterion for lengthening life. Moreover, in average, chronic diseases appear later in runners’ lives than in non runners’.

So as a conclusion, running can change your daily life physically and mentally. You have to try and push on even if it’s difficult because nothing is won without effort. For me, running is also a way to escape from my routine, get some air, and discover amazing landscapes, especially here, in Santa Barbara. So get rid of your false excuses and go running.

I can also give you some spots where you can go for a run. For me the better place is Santa Barbara Waterfront. When I run around 6 or 7 p.m the sunset on the ocean and the mountain is amazing. Then, you can find below a link for a website where you can find every run’s spots of the city.

Aragon Moto GP Race 2018

Jorge Lorenzo has called out at Moto GP rival Marc Marquez for “destroying” his race and causing the foot injury he sustained in his first-corner crash at Aragon.

Lorenzo started the race in first place, but in the first corner he crashed. He was maybe the favourite rider for this race, even if it is known that in the races anything can happen.

Lorenzo has defended that he crashed because Marquez did not give him any other choice. He actually didn’t go to the Moto gp direction to talk about what happened because, as he has said, he knew that apparently, at the outside of the race, it didn’t seem that it was Marquez’s mistake.

What Lorenzo had defended is that Marquez, the eventual race winner, ran wide in making the move and bogged down on a corner exit, immediately surrendering the lead to Andrea Dovizioso.

Lorenzo suffered a dislocated toe and a subcapital fracture of the second metatarsal on his right foot, and is not certain he will be fit for Thailand. So, this crash didn’t only cause the lose of points of Aragon’s race, and of course, the fracture, it would also mean losing the possibility of winning the World Champion Moto GP Cup.

 

In my opinion, I think that to say the accident was Marquez’s fault is not true. Though it’s true that Marquez arrived at the corner so fast, he in any moment didn’t caused Lorenzo to crash. Lorenzo had a failure opening the gas of the motorcycle in the corner, and that caused the crash. In any moment, Marquez’s intention was to throw Lorenzo out, that’s for sure. Moreover, Marquez, after all this happened, called Lorenzo to let him know his point of view of what happened. Lorenzo said that this act honors Marquez.

New Season for the Los Angeles Lakers

Can I tell you something? My interest in the Lakers team this year began because of  LeBron James.

This famous NBA player, who began is career in 2003, is a smart man on the ground and in his life. Everybody knows that he enters in the Lakers franchise for this 2018/2019 season. Obviously, this decision brings many questions and especially why has he chosen the Los Angeles Lakers ?

This new team is very young and maybe it’s the time to trust in these youth. The French football team was a good example during this FIFA World Cup. Like LeBron said, they’re “not on the Warrior’s level”. Despite this, they will work hard to progress with LeBron’s experience and confidence. But before that, we have to wait for the beginning of the NBA regular season, that will be the 18 October against the Portland Trail Blazers. At this moment we can see the team’s real level of the Lakers and what they can do on the ground. This team is like a white sheet with a new story to write.

Everybody talks a lot about LeBron James but, like when he was on the Cleveland team, he can’t do all the work alone. So now we’ll take a look at the rest of the team.

Indeed, to strengthen the King, the Lakers’ staff has searched some players with play making skills, speed, experience, motivation and high level of competitiveness. Let’s see the result. We have a team of 15 players. There are Lonzo Ball, the youth, and Rajon Rondo, the experience, as point guard. Lonzo Ball who suffered an operation of the knee last July. LeBron James even said that he was impressed by Lonzo’s form and vivacity in so little time after his operation. Is it a good sign to see Lonzo Ball as a headliner? In any case, it’s good news for the pro-Lonzo fans, conversely for the pro-Rondo team.

Moreover, Los Angeles Lakers’ shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is like a new player coming into this season. He seems to be a pillar member of the team, alongside Lebron James, thanks to his impressive 3-point shooting and defense. Another shooting guard arrived in the Lakers team for this season, Lance Stephenson, who is really excited to play on this team but mainly with the King. Despite this enthusiasm, Stephenson has to improve his performances compared to his last season (28.9 % at 3-points with the Pacers last year). The last shooting guard for this new team is Josh Hart, who was a really good deal for the Lakers with Kyle Kuzma during the 2017 Draft. Josh Hart has really good statistics as a 3&D player, but he doesn’t want to stay at this place. So let us see what you can do, Boy.

Then Brandon Ingram, small forward in the Lakers since 2016, looks like he will be a team’s pillar for this season with LeBron James at power forward. Finally, JaVale McGee joined the Lakers as main center of the team. Indeed, the 30-year-old led the Warriors in true shooting percentage (64.1 percent), which was among the top-10 in the NBA last year among players that appeared in at least 60 games.

So the new season means a new great team for The Lakers. Indeed, the Lakers’ staff put a lot of money this year in recruitment.

But, you know that a team also needs a good coach. And what coach? Luke Walton, a guy who played 10 season in the NBA, who won two NBA championships with the Lakers and won one with the Golden State Warriors as an assistant coach. This year is his third season with the Lakers team as head coach. The start will probably be difficult for Walton. In fact, he had to find a fine mix between youthfulness and experience. This team is really eclectic so it will be a real puzzle for Walton to compose the starting line-up.

To finish how can we describe this team : crazy, versatile, promising, overvalued? In any case, they are intriguing on the basketball planet. Can’t wait to see their evolution and how they will mark this year.

I think that this new Lakers’ team will suprise us. I believe in this group, they can do great things and why not win the NBA championship this year?

Things To Do in Switzerland

There are so many things you can do in this small country from exploring the Swiss Alps to passing the spectacular Rhine Falls or sailing around Lake Geneva.

  1. Go skydiving

An amazing place where you can skydive is Interlaken. Interlaken is close to the capital city and is surrounded by peaks of the alps. It’s one of the most spectacular spots on earth to go skydiving.

2. Take the Glacier Express

You should definitely ride with the famous Glacier Express through the mountains. Riding the train is pretty spectacular because it has huge panoramic, glass windows. If you want to take the whole ride you have to get in from Zermatt and then you go out at Davos or St. Moritz.

3. Visit the James Bond Restaurant

The famous James Bond restaurant in Switzerland is located at the top of the Schilthorn, a 2970 meter high mountain in the middle of the country. The restaurant is called Piz Gloria. It is where the 1969 James Bond movie was set. It’s also a revolving restaurant. That means you can eat and the view changes all the time.

4. Get soaked by the waterfalls

If you want to see one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Switzerland you have to go to Lauterbrunnen and take the one hour hike to Trummelbach. You’ll actually pass about two or three other waterfalls along the way. Trummelbach is the most famous waterfall. It has been formed by the melting snow breaking through cracks in the rocks.

For Americans, soccer is just something you drive your daughter to. A world cup they always think they’ll win despite just being no.28 on the FIFA world ranking. For the rest of the world, it’s more than a sport, it’s a lifestyle. We live and breath soccer, some fans even kill and die for their club. The club is our god, the fans of that club is our family and the stadium is our home, our church. Soccer is a religion, a religion with thousands of gods. The leader of all those gods? Sadly FIFA. I’ll explain later.

The fans are the most important thing a club can have. It sounds cheesy I know, but there’s a reason fans are called “the 12th player”. They provide atmosphere around the stadium; they provide electric chants that energize the players. Most importantly, they provide TIFOs. A TIFO is a synchronized display before the game starts, with banners, flags and songs that the team march in to.

It’s fashionable in our youth today to go to a fitness center. Statistics show us that more and more people go to a center. The women often want to lose weight or they want to have a fit body for the swimsuit in the summer, often to suit our beauty ideals. Men want to have muscles as many as possible, also to suit our beauty ideals,  but there are other sports, which we don’t even think about,  fishing or golf for example. But today I’ll speak about Martial Arts as specially Martial Arts for children.

Martial arts aren’t just battles. The sports are a method of training your mind, body and spirit, but you don’t have to learn vocabulary.  Martial arts are known for harmony, but also to learn effective and self-defense techniques. Today, self-defense is important. Children who get involved in martial arts reap many benefits in several areas of life. Martial arts were created in Asia, for example karate, kung fu, jiu jitsu, aikido, tae kwon do, judo and muay Thai. The most known sports are karate and Kung fu.


Fitness

By doing martial arts you can improve your fitness, of course. Fitness is an element to all martial arts classes, especially where children are involved. Warmups with jumping jacks, pushups and stretches are common, and the movements of the martial art themselves often challenge the muscles. Martial artists are known for being toned, flexible and physically fit.

Self Defense

The ability to defend oneself against a bad person is a good feeling. It gives people safety. Most martial arts use self defense as a cornerstone of the entire program. The methods will vary from discipline to discipline, especially children learn different ways to defend themselves. Many martial arts schools also teach street-smart techniques to kids to help avoid problems all together.

Self Discipline

Martial arts help instill mental focus. It gives  the ability to concentrate on one task. The discipline that is taught in the training in regard to uniforms, customs and techniques often translates into other areas of life, including school and household chores.

Self Confidence

A child who is involved in martial arts is generally a child who is confident in herself. Working through a martial art gives a child goals to follow, that are realistic to attain.

My Experience

I’m doing martial arts since 9 years. At the beginning, as a little girl, it was interesting, because it was something else. All the others girls in my class went to the farm to riding or they played volleyball. I liked it to do something different, and it was a lot of fun. Now I’m physically fit and I learned a lot about another culture. If there is a dangerous situation, perhaps, I’ll be able to defense myself. This sport helped me also in the school for my discipline. I can benefit in every part of my life. It isn’t just a hobby for me. It is a big part of my life or a way of life.
